Art Deco

"Art Deco" started in the 1920's (1925) and its purpose was to show to the world the evolution of decorative french arts. Art deco was an extension of the Art Noveau era with the sense of ornamentation, craftsmanship and fine materials. The term 'Art Deco did not become popular until Bevis Hillier's 1968 book 'Art Deco of the 20s and 30s. Crystalline and faceted forms were shown to influence the cubic and futuristic style of this artwork.
