of a Thriller
- The main character has an encounter with death (either their own or someone else's(if someone else's, it is usually someone close))
- The “bad guy(s)” must be better (wether that be smarter or stronger) than the main character at the start
- The storyline is about a mystery that is being solved
- The storyline for the “good guy” is that they are on a quest or following someone that hasn't been caught.
- The narrative is mainly from the point of view of the “good guy”
- The theme is serving justice and morality
- a small aspect is that there is always an innocent character that is shown in a corrupt environment.
- Characters and acting must be natural in their representations on the screen
