Blog Update

This is a recap on the first few weeks (because I didn't actually know we were supposed to be doing this each week) so, its going to be a bit long.

In the first 2 weeks we used class time and our own set homework time to come up with a Shot list and Production timetable (I had done a props list in the holidays). We (Alice, Emma, Laura and I) all agreed that we would direct and make the shot list for the scene that we decided to do the storyboards for and we got final say on how things went. We made sure our scenes would mash together properly and then went to setting the production timeline.
We also got all our costumes and brought them into school, we are storing them in Laura's locker because she doesn't use it and this is our access point to them all.

On lesson on tuesday consisted of us going to the lab and filming that scene. It took a while to start because we had to stay in class for a while, while Mr. Andrews explained to us about how the cameras work
MAIN POINTS FROM EXPLINATION

  • Flower = close
  • Mountains = distance
  • The usb is attached
  • Screw it tightly into the tripod
  • Keep to the thirds
  • film on 720
We then went in filming the lab scene. We didn't get as much done as hoped because of time taken up at the start, and the fact that some members had trouble keeping a straight face. We got about half what we had predicted what we were going to do, done so we need to book that science class for another day. I put the files onto my computer and went home and labeled them all and sorted them

Today in media Mr Andrews talked again at the start and so we quickly went to the chapel (which we had booked) and began filming. We didn't get so much done in the class period but we went back after school and stayed to 5:15 and got the entire scene done. To reflect on the filming, I believe we did well because we got what we wanted to get, done. I was good (and I did appoligise at the end) for being "ok come on lets get going" and I was very 'nazi' on any watches or earrings that weren't supposed to be there. When filming, we did change the shots a bit, but we went back and made sure that they fitted and we hadn't missed out a big gap. With about 3 shots to go, the camera died on battery so laura had to run and get a charger and it took us about 15min to get it charged enough again.

We paced up and left it how we found it and Laura is to return the items tomorrow morning.
